This feature has made games like Incursion stand out over and above games like Space Hulk.

We noticed the same type of thing for Firestorm Armada over Babylon 5 ACTA.

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP wonders...

Whether drawn/rolled for before a game gets started (i.e., similar to Bloody Barons), or played/rolled for during a game, I always have loved the inclusion of "chance cards/die rolls" in games.

To me, they add a nice bit of flavor to a game. I can understand how they can be a bother to some, though, if every time you play a set of rules an outlandish event occurs (lightning strikes your leader, etc.).

I guess to a certain degree it all depends on how practical or outlandish the "chance" events are. If it's just a sudden rain storm, fog, or short supplies roll/card, I'm all for them, but not so much on the more extravagant events.

I can't help but think of Waterloo, though, with Napoleon's inaction during the beginning of the battle, and think that in game terms, someone must have played a "your leader's gout acts up, he may not move or issue orders for the first three turns" card on him!

What say you?
