Each of the 600 DBA armies listed in the book has some of the others as enemies. Thus a serious player typically builds armies in pairs of enemies. Moreover, in the first two additions there were lists of 6 armies involved in historic campaigns. Many players would buy all six. Besides playing games with 12 stand Armies, there is an option for big battle games, with three armies on the side (36 stands). Most tournaments are in 15 mm, but many players like to do big battle games in 28 mm, so they often have the same army in different Scales.

You can see how it's possible for a player to acquire quite a few armies. I don't know a single player who has only a couple.

POLL DESCRIPTION

Dedicated DBA armies.

Armies that can be used across multiple sub-lists counting as one.

Armies that can do double (or triple, etc) duty as other armies (like many barbarian armies) counting as one.

So, I guess whatever you could field all at once is what counts. By that logic, BBDBA armies do count as multiples.

I'm making this up as I go along. It's unlikely to be the poorest calibrated poll topic seen yet.
