I've published three sets commercially, a couple in short private runs, and at least a dozen short sets in magazines. People approach me to write rules and eadditional material. So, without any false modesty, this is something I like and I'm good at. I write well, and try to make things clear to people who aren't, er, me.

But we are, after all, trying to replicate human behaviour according to mechanisms involving dice, measurements and inanimate toy soldiers. You can only do so much.

I gave myself a '9', because I am feeling especially good about how my current game design is going. But that could drop when I see what the testers think when they play it --
