Two Navy and two Coasties as brother, father and two uncles, Bismark, and I see your uncle's point. But when you have civilians and interests in a country with a military presence to defend them and a vast cultural difference with the locals, it's allowable as a colonial movie. For contrast, "Due South" (RCMP stationed in Chicago) or "Twelve O'Clock High (USAAF in Britain) would not be.

Plenty of US civilians and interests in Britain, but we don't send gunboats up the Thames.
