Still have all the LBB's and loved the first edition of the game.

First it was one of the first role playing systems after D and D so has been around quite a while. They have tinkered with it a few times and never really an improvement in my opinion. Newest editions were Traveller 20 (ADD 3.5 remake) which I sort of liked and the newest T5 rules that came out last year (jury still out as it has a few flaws at this point.

Traveller is rooted in hard numbers but twith the advances of the last 40 years those roots are a little shakey now. Still a good solid verse to work in with reasonable settings and equipment. It has lasted a lot longer then other SFRPG's over the years (Marrow project. FTL. Space Opera, Star Frontiers, Gamma World, ect)

POLL DESCRIPTION
One reviewer of a recent sci-fi RPG writes:
...the setting, while workable, is sub-par compared to the standard Traveller setting, the main competitor and inspiration of this RPG. I admit, the comparison is unfair Traveller has been under constant development for decades now, with multiple rulesets to suit your taste but it's exactly the comparison most interested buyers will make.
Is there any reason to create new sci-fi space RPGs, or has Traveller already done it so well there is no sense trying any more?
