Generic Rules: A game system that can be used for a wide range of potential gaming periods, whether covering an entire technological spectrum (pre-gunpowder, horse&musket, 20th century) or even attempting to cover all warfare ever. It could also be applied to systems that are adapted to multiple, disparate periods IF the system stays relatively unchanged between periods.
