Yes, that was the odd thing about the poll. Many or most of the people named could never be contenders. Only the US, the UK--and, now, France--names tanks after generals, and then only our own, and in Britain's case only generals whose names begin with "C." German generals have had ships named after them, but never tanks

Germany, having used up the Tiger, Panther, Leopard and Puma--and wasn't there a Lynx of some sort and a Lion prototype?--might be reduced to house cats in event of a major conflict. Or perhaps the Sabertooth, the Thylacoleo and the Thylacine? It beats a long production run of the Manx or the Tabby.

But the British could legitimately field the Cornwallis--unless a Labour Ministry of Defense opts for the Council or Committee instead.
