POLL: Fantasy Books/Shorts That Deserve a Movie or TV Series (Round 1C)

I haven't either. But I've read a few too depressing to re-read. Even for a Scandinavian, he could be bleak sometimes.

Now, I also insist that neither Barbara Hambly nor Lois McMaster Bujold ever wrote a bad story--but they each have series I won't give shelf room, or even time. Not bad stories, but you can sometimes find a very good story without finding it good company.

Parzival, I think the Judith Merkle Riley books may be the most obscure in the poll, but you might find them worth a look--nicely done fantasy of the sort which assumes magic works in the late middle ages and Rennaissance pretty much the way contemporaries believed.
