23rdFusilier Supporting Member of TMP writes:

No sympathy for Arnold. His career is over rated. Read what a true soldier Ewalt said about him and his abilities during the Virgina campaign.

Not happy with his lot and in debt he sold out for money. One price if he turned over West Point, and his comrades in arms. Antother if unsuccessful in turning it over. The high minded excuses came later as justification. One of his past subordinates Brian said if him, "His God was money."
