It is a great platform for remote gaming. From what I have seen it is mostly used in PC gaming whether for a specific game or a club-based server. It is very effective when you need a comms set up for multiplayer games. The International Kriegspiel Society uses Discord as it is perfect for that use case. I played in a Gettysburg game where they broke down servers by Corps for players and then umpire had their own servers to discuss interactions before going back to players and giving them results. I use Discord on my phone and PC. I can play pbem games and transfer files back and forth with my opponent as well. |
