People talk about the hundreds of Napoleonic rules there are. Which is a myth (at least not that many battalion level games). But holy s@#% there are a ton of Ancients rules. The guys here in my town play a different set every Sunday. I don't even bother to participate, I can't keep them all straight.

POLL DESCRIPTION

Writing in Slingshot, David Carruthers reports on wargaming the same Ancients battle under two different rulesets, then concludes:

Out of the two sets, I like the 'big-battle' feel of DBMM, but I love the unit divisions of WAB, and the fact they don't have to be precisely positioned to give effective support. If DBMM had some sort of 'unit' structure, it would be a better system, I feel.

Do you agree that DBMM needs some sort of unit structure?
