As with most weapon match-ups, it REALLY comes down to training. Well, there is an upper limit for the smoothbore musket, but what it is depends upon ball-bore differences. On the other hand, weather impacts bow use more significantly. And are we talking static target or moving target?

The lethality (and armor piercing capability) of the musket is superior.

Writing in the February issue of Hobilar, Paul Reeve writes concerning the longbow versus the Brown Bess musket:

...modern studies and anecdotal contemporary comments would certainly indicate that longbows were a good deal more accurate than muskets.
