Good grief…

First, no. Marines don't have armor for Europe, and armor is what it takes. That's why there is such a thing as a US Army. It's the one thing they're good at ;)

Second, a MEU and a MEB are two different things. A MEU is built around an infantry battalion, a MEB is built around an infantry regiment. A MEU would have pretty much no significant impact with regards to Russian ambitions (assuming that was the point), and a MEB would find itself moving too slowly to make a difference.

Lastly, it's not "an MEU," like M-E-U, it's 'a MEU,', like 'a Myew.' Same goes for a MEB ("meb," not M-E-B) and MEF ("mef," not M-E-F). ;)

V/R,
Jack

POLL DESCRIPTION
Writing in Proceedings magazine, Colonel William J. Nemeth makes the case that a regionally focused Marine Expeditionary Brigade in Eastern Europe would support NATO allies and friends at odds with a resurgent Russia. Would this be a wise move?
