I think it's fine as a grouping, with Pike & Shot as a subtitle.

Not that I would be against the change. But either way, I wish someone would bracket the years (as with the late 19th / early 20th century naval board) to help out some here who can't find the Renaissance within a couple hundred years either way.

The Renaissance boards cover warfare from the end of the Medieval period to the start of the 18th Century. The unifying feature of warfare for most of this time was the use of pike and shot in varying combinations.

The actual Renaissance, the artistic and cultural period, began and ended rather earlier than above.

In the interests of accuracy and clarity, should the board be renamed?

My suggestion would be 'Pike and Shot Era'.
