By the standards set here, I'm a mere novice with about a hundred plus. I acquired most of mine on secondary markets, some were bought new. As most everyone else I use them for quick reference uniform guides. The writing is broad-stroke, but useful as an intro. The OOB info is also a real time saver and a great baseline for tweaking.

Value is relative. The bought new copies have lost value, the second hand copies have maintained value, or gone up depending upon the purchase price. Every couple of years, I sell/trade the ones I will never use again.

POLL DESCRIPTION

Writing in Miniature Wargames magazine, Gary Mitchell observes:

One maxim that does hold true is 'Ospreys keep their value'. They do I rarely sell one on, I pick them up on bring-and-buys and as an introduction to a subject and a quick-ref painter's guide they are invaluable.

Do you agree?
