Terrement Supporting Member of TMP wonders...

I loved Basil Rathbone in the role for the "modernized" versions during WWII, but my money is on Jeremy Brett. The list of possibilities is quite long, and you may prefer the characterization of someone else. So which one does it for you? "Historical accuracy" not important, nor the number of times they played the role. Just whose characterization of this exceptional detective bets fit your idea of who Holmes "really" was?
