Give him a one(1). He didn't effectively use his cavalerie, and he was long a cavalry general. For evertything else he was out of his element and that was the fault of Napoleon.

POLL DESCRIPTION

Writing in First Empire #112, Colonel (ret.) Richard J. Matason concludes:

During his pursuit of the Prussians on 17 and 18 June Grouchy at times lost contact with the Prussians, did not use his cavalry very effectively as an intelligence gathering instrument, did not keep in close and frequent contact with Napoleon, and did not pursue the Prussians with much elan and enthusiasm.

On a scale of 0 (none) to 10 (total), how much do you blame Grouchy for the French defeat at Waterloo?
