I have some 28mm stuff, I have some 15mm stuff but on a basis of weight of lead I am pretty much 6mm only for Sci-Fi. Battletech, Dirtside, Baccus and small amounts of GW Epic stuff account for most of my Sci-Fi armies as I like to play games based on planetary assaults – first the spaceships then the dropships and finally the armour, infantry and the mechs, lots of luvverly mechs. It all seems to work well from starship scale (1:1200-ish?) to 1:300-ish for the ground troops, not so well to 15mm or 28mm scales; I don't have a tennis court handy to play in.

I'm gradually making a shift, though I am not getting rid of my 28s (for now).

  1. Too many great developments with better sculpts in 15mm
  2. the higher prices of 28mm
  3. and my reduction in gaming space, are all contributing to this shift.

Lots of great stuff available now. So, how many of you are making a similar shift from 28mm SF to 15mm SF?
