I like Jutland for the historical battle and also for the what ifs. Suppose the British were not tipped off by their code breaking and had no idea the German fleet was going to sea? What if instead of breaking off the attack, the Germans roll the dice and come at the British? Churchill described Jellicoe later as "the only man on either side who could lose the war in an afternoon."

POLL DESCRIPTION

unknown member says...

Rules are simple. The battle must have "killed" a lot of people and is "famous" yet you have absolutely no interest in finding out anything about it.

To me, there are tons of Napoleonic battles that do not interest me in the least. I suppose Waterloo is kind of interesting. I guess Austerlitz is important.

But for me the winner is Aspern Essling. Did I spell it right? Do I care?

I have heard of it, but I don't even know who fought in it or when. French, right?

So that's my nominee.

If you want to play nominate, some bloody battle you have no plans to know anything about. Any period.
