Why is it you can count on one and a half hands the number of battles where archers had a major impact, and not just add to the atrittion.

Persans employed massed archers, yet they had little effect on greeks and Macedonians.

Writing in Slingshot, Nick Harbud reports that according to reenactors, bowfire will never stop a charge since there is insufficient time to fire. Do you agree?
