I've travelled a long way for conventions. Flew from Dallas to Baltimore for Origins in 85. Flew from Atlanta to Dallas in 92 for a convention. Driving, have gone a few hours, but only because that was how far it took to get there. If I have the interest and the time, no big deal. I have done 8 hours each way for a non-gaming related convention, and flown from Virginia to Texas for a similar event. Cost is a bigger factor than distance.

I've got frequent flyer miles, so the distance is no problem!

Okay, lets say (just for discussion's sake), a large, long convention (multi-day such as Gencon/Origins), that is exclusively miniatures related (leaning towards historical)... (current HMGS cons, Salute, etc., excluded...)
