Just received this via email, and I thought that I would share. It's only about a minute long, but very funny.

Imagine how the Normandy landings would have looked like if the beaches were full of quicksand.

A lot of swimming surveys went into analyzing the beach consistency in France before the beaches were chosen.

In the invasion of Panama, a small unit was dropped off by helicopter at night and promptly sank up to their hips in mud and muck. They were trapped there until rescued by other units the next day. Not an enviable position. From the looks of this, I would say the beach was either prepared or selected by the trainers to deliver a valuable lesson to the troops.

Definately set up I think you can see a pipe leading to the beach probably with high pressure water. Funny though!!! reminds you off all the stunts you used to be able to pull.

hee hee hee – reminds me of when we were patroling through a swamp down in Georgia and hit a similar "muck" pit. Two hours later we were thanking god that the water level had been going down and not up!
