My wife and I welcomed our adoptive son to our family on Friday. A happy, healthy 4 month old arrived from South Korea after much anticipation and government red tape. I never quite imagined how incredible it would feel to be a dad.

Congratulations! It's the most wonderful journey in the world.

Grumpy Monkey06 Nov 2006 6:30 p.m. PST

Congrats!

It's probably the single greatest feeling in the world. The sad part is no one other than dads can know the feeling.

Again Congrats you can look forward to some great times and well some crazy ones too.

Congratulations! It's the most wonderful journey in the world.

And then the kid shows up…and it's all down hill.

On a more positive note- great news!!!

Congratulations!!

Remember – it is never too early to involve him in gaming. I recommend painting pips on him and rolling him around. He will love it (still, best probably done when Mom is not around).

Congratulations! My wife and I just had our 3rd son last week (that's 3 boys in 3 years . . . ), and I hope at least one of them shows an interest in the hobby at some point. More immediately, I hope my miniatures survive the depredations of 3 young boys long enough to be appreciated by them! Precautions are taken of course, but the older two (3 and 1.5 years) get into just about everything!

Congratulations! Being a dad is the best job you will ever have! (I still remember the first time my son moved a squad of 25mm troops into a position and said "i am laying down suppressive fire on you marines in that building".

Chokes me up just thinking about it…

Conjgratulations fgrom yet another dad, who completely agrees with the rest about that special feeling.

Do remember that feeling when you seriously consider strangling him when he is 16. LOL

My wife arrived home from school many years ago and announced to mother-in-law "I've got a new fwiend called Anna. She's Kowean."

(I hasten to add she lost the lisp in the intervening years although I guess I know what to expect when she loses her teeth.)

My boy is 9 months and I confess to starting to plan what he may want to game in 8-10 yrs time. I'm already into wild west (safe bet) am fully equipped with Try-to-Survive-aSaurus, am looking at Crimea as Brits actually going into battle in furry hats looks child friendly… and I mean to invest in Dick Garrison at some stage as I love the range & concept and it looks small boy friendly, at least it appeals to the small boy in me.

Knowing my luck the little gremlin will be militariaphobic and into football.
