Hi everyone!

I just want to let you know that last night my wife has given birth to our beautifull son, Binc. Although it was kind of a rough transition, both my wife and son are doing fine.

At almost eight pounds Binc is a healthy little boy!

So Friendlyfire finally became a dad…

He is my best sculpt yet!

Greetings From your fellow TMP'er,

Friendlyfire

Savor every minute of the next 10 – 12 years, then for the 8 – 10 years after that repeat the mantra..

'Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing my teenagers. Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing my teenagers.'

A proud grandparent.

It's the best job in the world, but it's a real bitch to get.

Thanks for al the support guys!

Just got home from the hospital, and after informing all my fammily and friends it seemed right to inform my favorite web community!

I'm a proud father and my wife is doing great, although she sufferd from quite some bloodloss during the birth, the sight of our beautifull and healty son made up for all the pain and stress.

@Mike Snorbens; I'm Dutch and in Holland "Bink" means something like tough handsome man. So the name is not so strange as it sound, but still quite unusual I guess. We Chose for "Binc" with a C because it gave a unique twist to the name. And my wife and I take pride in being different from the rest!

Thanks again guys!

My wargaming, painting and sleeping will probably suffer but i have no doubt it will be worth it!

By the way; I took over the wargaming hobby from my dad when i was young, so i have good hope that my son Binc will have a interest in wargaming and such!

Streitax03 Oct 2006 9:39 a.m. PST

Huzzah!!

Welcome aboard new Dad!

We have two boys, so far. We don't know what #3 is yet!
We love the heck out of em. My oldest is four. He loves figs. "That fig is cool. Paint that fig, Dad."
Really like the name.

Congratulations my good man. Enjoy!! My third child will be 10 months this month. She is going to be as much of a hand full as her brother and sister. Other than the lack of sleep and the hair loss, being a dad is a great job;-) All the best to your family from all of my family. Glad your all doing well.

Cheers.

Dictionary says;

bink (de ~ (m.), ~en)
1 [inf.] populaire of stoere jongen.

Translation;

bink
Popular or cool/tough boy.

(Pronounced like the "bui" from buisness and the "nk" from tank)

I would think that the most easy example to think of as a "Bink" would be Fonzie from Happy days (I'm 26 but saw the re-runs).

Thanks again for all the support guys! I'm going to print these pages and ad them to his baby photo album so he can see how many well wishers he has from around the world!

Maybe I'll e-mail bill and send him an picture so he can put it up on the miniaturesPage so you guys can see the little Binc! Who knows he might be front page news on one of his first days on earth!

Rattlehead04 Oct 2006 7:52 a.m. PST

Great news! Congrats to you and yours from me and mine!

Robert Burke04 Oct 2006 9:18 a.m. PST

Congrats. So, which toy soldiers are you going to buy for him first?

Friendlyfire04 Oct 2006 9:56 a.m. PST

@Robert Burke;

It is a hard to choose with so many great miniatures out there!

But his first Fantasy monster will probably representg like a fluffy animal in the 300mm Scale…

CooperSteveOnTheLaptop04 Oct 2006 12:02 p.m. PST

Well done!

This week I am looking after my wife, with a sickness bug, my daughter, with an unknown virus, and the dog, who has diarrhoea. Fortunately my baby son and I remain well. But we're not getting much sleep!
