…‘Forever' "The CEO of Covid-19 vaccine maker Moderna warned Wednesday that the coronavirus that has brought world economies to a standstill and overwhelmed hospitals will be around "forever." Public health officials and infectious disease experts have said there is a high likelihood that Covid-19 will become an endemic disease, meaning it will become present in communities at all times, though likely at lower levels than it is now…" Main page link

Probably. Just like polio, normal flu, and bubonic plague. Sooner or later, we will know how to put up with it. But it will always be out there. |

This has been clear since last April. I just hope this will be a once-a-year shot or once-every-ten-years shot, not four times a year. |

Sorry to say, but vaccines are low margin commodities. The actual bottom line help for Pfizer and Moderna here is subsidized development money. |

I read that Moderna I think it was are going to roll out their vaccine as a non profit item, firstly for the UK and then to third world countries and others who haven't got their own manufacturing facilities. So much for Big Pharma deliberately coining it in. |

Volleyfire +1 Sure the manufacturers will have benefitted from R&D funding, but vaccines are definitely low profit compared to, say, developing a new improved version of Viagra (according to a friend, of course!) But why let facts get in the way of an opportunity to have a dig at the pharma companies? |

Actual "cures" are bad for business; they want to sell "treatments" on a continuous basis. (My statement has nothing to do with the China virus; just thought I'd have a dig at big pharma.) |
