First public immunisations today – it'll take 3-6 months, the largest and fastest programme of mass immunisation in our history but at least there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Only in UK could the BBC announce that Mr William Shakespeare from Warwickshire was one of the first recipients (priority is being given to the elderly, so I guess it's logical) and our Prime Minister, with a straight face, described it as "a shot in the arm for the entire nation"

I am dubious about the vaccines based on on RNA modification. Are any of the vaccines based on traditional techniques of using disease cells?

The ceo of BioNTech stated the other day it would be an annual thing (having to take the covid vaccine they developed with Pfizer). . .

Yes, the Oxford vaccine is using the traditional method of hijacking a simian virus to introduce an inactivated covid-19 virus.

The RNA is more fragile (that's why it's taken 15 years since the foundational research to get the first vaccine, and it's really hard to develop the protective lipid based envelope for the mRNA. That's why the Moderna vaccine is more stable than the Pfizer one – Moderna has been working on this tech since 2010.

The beauty is that it can't affect your DNA – mRNA doesn't biochemically work that way. Best way of thinking of this is that the mRNA in the vaccine contains the code to create targets for your immune system to practice against.

Why don't we see more mRNA vaccines? This is cutting edge tech, and the first mRNA vaccines were about 2 years away from prime time before the pandemic, and it's easier to mass-produce in large quantities fast, and does not rely on a massive supply of eggs as a breeding medium for the traditional types of vaccines (that's why they ask you if you have egg sensitivity prior to vaccination)

Most FDNY Firefighters Plan To Refuse Pfizer COVID Vaccine, Survey Shows

"A sizeable portion said they no longer trust anyone," researchers stated.

As for the reluctance of the city's firefighters to take the vaccine, Ansbro suggests that they feel more comfortable with the risks of the virus versus the potential risks of the vaccine.

Thank you Doctor Martin.

In the US, be an early adopter, get the vaccine and profit from the class action lawsuit after your complications.

I was asked today if would I want the Pfizer vaccine next week if my District gets enough as planned. I do.

One of my daughter-in-laws has a PhD in microbiology and works at the CDC specifically on Covid. She would define the universe as binary, consisting of those anxious for the vaccine and morons.

Doesn't work that way. Most public health vaccines don't have strict liability, and the payouts are handled by a government agency.
