The World Health Organization has a poor track record for getting it right the first time, don't they?Yet for some reason, health officials and politicians have allowed laws to be amended, and tyrannical restrictions to be imposed, based on the alleged wisdom from the WHO. Well, as the old saying goes, even broken clocks are right twice per day. The World Health Organization Director-General, Dr. David Nabarro, made a public plea for world leaders to stop using lockdowns as a primary way to handle the pandemic. link |

link We checked with Nabarro to find out if the clip accurately reflected the points he raised during a nearly 20-minute interview. He responded, by email: "My comments were taken totally out of context. The WHO position is consistent."That context Nabarro mentioned covered a range of topics, such as the estimate that about 90% of the world's population is still vulnerable to COVID-19, that lockdowns are only an effective pandemic response in extreme circumstances and what Nabarro means when he talks about finding the "middle path." "We're saying we really do have to learn how to coexist with this virus in a way that doesn't require constant closing down of economies, but at the same time in a way that is not associated with high levels of suffering and death," Nabarro said in the interview. To achieve that via the middle-path approach, robust defenses against the virus must be put in place, said Nabarro, including having well-organized public health services, such as testing, contact tracing and isolation. It also involves communities adhering to public health guidelines such as wearing masks, physical distancing and practicing good hygiene. |

This always reminds me of a debate between two congressional candidates in my area. They went on a morning show in Wilkes Barre, and had an afternoon debate in Scranton, 25 miles away. To save on gas, they rode together. |

"My comments were taken totally out of context. The WHO position is consistent." Never heard of that outlet (Rebel News) but it seems to fit that Fake News epithet to a 'T'. Although I am still waiting for someone to define lockdown. |

Never heard of that outlet (Rebel News) but it seems to fit that Fake News epithet to a 'T'. link link It's basically a Canadian knockoff of Breitbart, but marinated in millions of barrels of Alberta tar sands oil. |

It's basically a Canadian knockoff of Breitbart I'm not sure that is all that fair to Breitbart. From the article, this pseudo news outlet skates way closer to white supremacy than Breitbart on their worst day. |

Same old tactic, shoot the messenger and ignore the message. The best thing about the internet is that you can find almost any information you want. The bad thing about the internet is that you can find almost any information you want. Rather than reporting the news, many times with a slanted narrative designed to tell their Useful Idiot audience what they want to hear, why don't they just post an uncut video or a valid transcript and let the people decide. No, then it would not be propaganda which is what most of this stuff is. Why won't the news outlets do that? Because then the talking heads won't be able to give their opinion (opinion is now confused with news and the facts) and attract advertisers. In about 5 years we'll get a better idea on what works or not. Right now this is all just a bunch of partisan noise that will mostly turn out to be meaningless. Keep it up guys, I find it all very amusing. By the way, I used to work with the CA country and state agencies for data collection for pandemic and mass innoculations response. I know how they operate, the challenges, problems, bureaucracies, personalities, politcs and money involved. That's why I ignore all of this stuff but it is amusing none the less. The degree of inaccuracy is astounding, believe me, I've seen it. The people involved are pretty incapable of implementing a solution no matter how much $$ you throw at it. Wolfhag |

shoot the messenger and ignore the message In this case it is more about noticing the messenger is wearing Klan robes over a tin foil hat. |

I believe the message was from the WHO. That is who you're talking about. |

I was referring the the website so enamored of the Charlottesville Nazi's. I deeply respect the WHO who have eliminated smallpox and are on the verge of eliminating polio. |

What website is that? I thought you meant Rebel News, but that would make no sense if you watched the link or knew Ezra. |

link Ezra seems to have little scruples about hiring Nazi lovers and flat out lying about right wing mass murder in Canada. |

I think you may need to know he is Jewish … But hey, trying to tar someone with that brush is a social-control mechanism that would make Saul Alinsky grin. |

I believe the article addresses his background in part in surprise at his publishing anti-Semitic articles and certainly explaining his flat out anti-muslim bigotry as well as the various revisions the site has had to go through as various contributors get kicked off or withdraw in disgust. link Feel free to point out any factual errors as opposed to the last words of a drowning argument when Godwin's Law doesn't apply. When in doubt use Saul Alinsky (as it is easier to spell than Beetlejuice but just as valid). |
