The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant The Unbeliever by Stephen R. Donaldson. With six long fantasy books, there's plenty for a team of scriptwriters to work with.

Franchises I would love to see done well:

Little Fuzzy by H. Beam Piper
Stainless Steel Rat by Harry Harrison
Retief by Keith Laumer
BOLO by Keith Laumer
Daughter of the Empire trilogy by Raymond E. Feist and Janny Wurts
The Chanur Chronicles by C.J. Cherryh
The Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences by Pip Ballantine and Tee Morris

And for role-playing game sources:
Transhuman Space (GURPS) by Steve Jackson Games
Slipstream (Savage Worlds) by Pinnacle Entertainment Group
Shadowrun by FASA/WizKids/Topps/Catalyst/Salmon/Poached Salmon/Poached Salmon in a White Wine Sauce/Or whoever owns the franchise rights now

It really doesn't matter what they attempt to produce because by the time the Hollywood hacks have butchered the original screenplay, it will be unrecognizable. Hollywood has a way of turning an interesting and unique story into the common, predictable, and boring. Cliches will be inserted….etc etc, I get pissed just thinking about it.
