….HelloFresh and more are so popular.

"With promises of quick, convenient and delicious home-cooked food, meal kits have become increasingly popular over the past few years, with more and more contenders on the scene.

These services aren't just about the food — they also provide wannabe chefs a sense of pride in actually putting a meal together, even if everything is already pre-portioned.

Now, grocery stores are also offering boxed meal kits, completely axing the delivery-service model. And while all these kits are trendy and delicious, are they actually a good deal?…"

The downside is all the packaging.

I think we just need to do a better job teaching people how to cook.

The other day the Elmo family had a zucchini from the garden and needed to eat supper. So I looked in the pantry, grabbed and onion, can of tomato sauce and paste, back out into the garden and grabbed a jalapeño, added a can of garbanzos and coconut milk and BOOM we had a curry.

We don't need meal kits, we need well stocked pantries.

I guess it depends on the definition of good value.

If people like the conveninece and enjoy the cooking & eating experience then they probably do believe it's good value.

It's like some people buy 25mm figures for £1.00 GBP per figure, and some people buy 25mm figures for £10.00 GBP per figure. If both are happy with their purchases then it's good value in both cases.

Looks like they have their pluses and minuses. Just looking at the cost of the food itself doesn't really give the true picture.
