It is with sadness that I report the passing of Arnold due to cancer. Arnold was one of the members of NEWA that introduced me to miniature wargaming back in the 70's. Arnold was one of the editors and article writers back in the "Old Courier". He also wrote "1944" and "Surface Warship" which were sold through the Courier. He eventually moved west and became involved with computer wargaming.

He died back on May 25. All of the on-line pieces that I accessed dealt solely with his computer gaming, not his initial work with tabletop miniature gaming. I can remember reading his articles in "The Courier." Another of our greats gone too soon.

Our paths crossed when he was with Dwarfstar Games, and I was designing boardgames. He was good to me.

Our paths crossed again briefly when we were both in the computer gaming business. Just a phone call, some business deal I no longer remember the details of.

I am very sorry to hear of his passing. His writings in the Courier were things I looked forward to in each issue. RIP

Sorry to hear this. Played 1944 with him back in the early 1970s. Still have my copy of 1944 and other rules he wrote.
