Begs the manufacturer:

Their reason ?

"Disinfectants are hazardous substances and can be poisonous if ingested."

Oh yeah.

In other news – don't sprinkle rat poison on your cornflakes….

… or get medical services from actual medical professionals.

There are dozens of things in your home that you can't fix by yourself. Why do you believe your body isn't one of those?

:)

Are you seriously telling me I shouldn't use my Home Amputation Kit?

But I just bought petrol for the chainsaw!

I suppose it depends on what you are planning to amputate Ochoin. I think sometimes people, and especially scientists, can be a little too quick to dismiss blue-sky thinking like this.

Home amputation kit is in the mail, Plutarch. Use it wisely.

Irony? I really don't know frown

I find that I now live in a new world where, like Sheldon Cooper, I am unable to detect irony and sarcasm anymore – someone says something that they seem to totally believe is sensible then later on I find out that they were using malicious irony.

I don't know why they would have been using malicious irony, that seems really inappropriate, but whatever, I couldn't tell.

It's weird because I really thought that I had sarcasm down…but no.

Humor has died and things like sarcasm are lost anymore! Everyone is too serious and very quickly get offended.

Or possibly…I do still understand sarcasm, and it's the person who was proffering the "I was being sarcastic" explanation for the dumb thing ("we should look into injecting dettol to kill covid") that they said who doesn't really understand how sarcasm works.

Earl of the North25 Apr 2020 9:34 a.m. PST

"I was joking", is a pretty often made claim when somebody has made themselves look dumb.

dick garrison26 Apr 2020 9:04 a.m. PST

Lets be honest he is a pretty funny guy!

"I think Boris Johnson would make a great Prime Minister"

Sarcasm.

"I think Brexit, would be great for your country"

Sarcasm

"I never had sexual relations with Stormy Daniels"

Sarcasm!

Why aren't you guys getting this!!

He's hilarious!

I thought it was a Darwin-ism test to see who would actual do something so stupid.

I also just assumed he didn't know what Dettol actual is.

So I have to come to the health and fitness board to see something sensible on the TMP+ boards. Got it. wink

Earl of the North29 Apr 2020 12:50 p.m. PST

Did anyone believe the sarcasm claim?
