All: My father passed away last night due to Covid-19 symptoms. Tuesday he was fine. Wednesday he had pneumonia and was put on antibiotics. Thursday morning he was in the ER. Thursday night he was dead. Yes, he was 81. Yes, he was in a nursing home. Yes, he had diabetes. But the flu didn't kill him when he was 80. Please stop comparing this to the flu. I had to watch them zip up the body bag around his face. He was an immigrant with an 8th grade education who became a US citizen, worked as a painter and carpenter, and raised two sons who both went to college. Although he met plenty of men he didn't like, he never met one who didn't like him. I miss him already. Thanks for reading. |

Your Dad sounds he was a good man. I know how hard it is to lose your parents. This had to be even tougher. May the fond memories of good times soon replace the hurt and sorrow.
