"The momentum behind a move to plant-based and vegan diets for the good of the planet is commendable, but risks worsening an already low intake of an essential nutrient involved in brain health, warns a nutritionist in the online journal BMJ Nutrition, Prevention & Health.

To make matters worse, the UK government has failed to recommend or monitor dietary levels of this nutrient–choline–found predominantly in animal foods, says Dr Emma Derbyshire, of Nutritional Insight, a consultancy specializing in nutrition and biomedical science.

Vegetarianism is one thing, Veganism is another. I'm not about to criticise someone's dietary choices: that's their business.
However, after spending time with my wife's Vegan nephew,I can see this life style is a constant struggle with food.

What's available?
Is it really Vegan?
Am I eating nutritiously?
Why is my diet so bland & uninteresting?

Admittedly, he was far from home but if what you eat is such a drama on holidays, how do you enjoy yourself?

I'm not sure about the premise of the article. It may well be possible to eat healthily on a Vegan diet. But it would not be easy.

Well I prefer eating meat first and dessert second.

Would never ever be a vegan because there is no way I am ever giving up eating meat.

Well, when I was to the supermarket yesterday, the only thing in abundant supply was the fake meat.

Because that would be one of the last thing to sell.

Went to the Fort Lewis commissary today the lines were long and it was out of things as well.
