Multi talent, writer, comedian, historian and TV presenter.

Joint Director credits on the The Holy Grail and best of all Mrs Cohen in the immortal Life of Brian, which he Directed too.

In the Python TV series he gave us Arthur "Two Sheds" Jackson, Cardinal Biggles of the Spanish Inquisition and Mr Creosote. Not to mention the naked piano playing guy!

Above all, barrels of laughs!

"He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!"

Life of Brian alone cements his legacy in my book. I also appreciated his work bringing documentaries to life and his work on Chaucer's Knight. Agree or disagree with his conclusions in that book, they were intelligent and written with earnest. RIP, Mr. Jones.

Best Obit so far:

'E's passed on! This Python is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-PYTHON!!

John Cleese summed it up as only he can

"Just heard about Terry J

It feels strange that a man of so many talents and such endless enthusiasm, should have faded so gently away…

Of his many achievements, for me the greatest gift he gave us all was his direction of 'Life of Brian'. Perfection

Two down, four to go"

RIP Terry – your legacy is your work

One of my favorite moments was during the Hollywood Bowl show, when T.J and John Cleese were doing the "Albatross" bit,Graham Chapman's colonel interrupting and eventually seguing into the "Nudge-Nudge" bit with Eric Idle.
