Have Windows 7, and a Scenario PDF booklet, with black and white maps on some of the pages. Text prints fine, from the plain text pages, and also from the map highlights, but there are no roads, hills, trees, bridges, or other B&W details from the maps printing.

I've tried everything I have as options in the printer settings, e.g.: heavy ink, B&W only, best quality, etc., etc., and nothing seems to work.

I've even tried copying and pasting in Word.

When in the printer preview, everything looks fine and shows up, but the maps just won't print out on the paper.

Any ideas how to possibly fix the issue?

Take a screenshot, print the screenshot?

I've tried printing screenshots in the past, without success.

I'm using Windows 7, and see there are supposedly 3 options to do a Print Screen, or to select images from the screen, but none seem to work for me.

I press the ALT key and the Print Screen key at the same time, and it does nothing. I press P.S. by itself, and nothing, as also with Control and P.S., and Shift and P.S. too.

I also tried copying and pasting into Word, on a doc template, and also on a drawing template, and those don't work either.

I can copy and paste, but there's no Print option either, when I right click on the image to select it.

Same results no matter what I do. Only text from the B&W maps prints, but no drawing/map details.

Stupid computer.

Put the file on a thumb drive and take to Office Max (or the like). Make it their problem.

Hmmmm, looks like off to the printers, unless someone else has another idea, since even the photos I took are too light to print properly.

They look okay on the screen, but the printer doesn't like them.

Crazy.

Google Fu suggests these possible fixes…

File > Print > Advanced > check 'Simulate overprinting.

When the Print Window is up sometimes you have to choose "Document and Markups" under the "Comments and Forms:" section, located near top right of window.

We get pdfs in all the time where someone has password protected the file (or parts of the file) to where you can look at it on the screen fine, but it won't print out.

Print -> Advanced -> Print as Image checkbox

I have done this several times.

Turn the page in the PDF so that the aspect ratio of the map is optimized on the screen (landscape or portrait).

Then play with the zoom until the map fills the screen.

Do the print screen.

Open Microsoft Paint and paste the image in the window.

Play with it to get your best image.

Save and print as you desire.
