Former 1960's era NY Yankees pitcher,author of autobio "Ball Four",which became a short-lived TV sitcom in the 1970's(he played himself or an avatar character),and one of the brains behind Big League Chew gum. He was 80 y/o.

I remember him as a decent pitcher, nothing hot but
a curve that'd strike you blind – when his 'stuff'
was with him.
