I just got around to seeing this. A great laugh. Awesome cast, especially Jason Isaacs as Zhukov.

My favorite "recent" movie.

Oh my! Office politics at the lethal level.

It's a very good film with so many memorable scenes.

Like the one when the officer congratulates with his brother officer about how quickly they managed to clear Stalin's stuff out of his residence.

Hilarious movie. I read that it was banned in Russia, no surprise there.

Very dark. I thought it was funny and nicely historical, but some people are *not* going to like it. Don't foist it on people who are bothered by that kind of humor.

Zhukioc was a blast, but all the characters were nicely caricatured.

My wife's current favorite. I'm slightly uncomfortable with the level of enthusiastic interest she shows in Jason Isaac's Zhukov character though. O.o

"how can you run and plot at the same time?"

A hilarious movie. One of my all time favorites! Jason Isaac stole it though.

350, my wife already liked him from Harry Potter & "OA". He is unreasonably handsome.

Another "like" for this extremely well-cast movie.

Really enjoyed this movie too when it came out. It's dark humor though so what with all the executions it's not everyone's idea of comedy.

Well when the old guy dies you do need to do some house cleaning if you want to take over.

Could do a HBO series based on what happen.

I did enjoy the movie and it was "funny". The only drawback is that as time goes on the comedy could be seen as "history" rather than satire. Portraying the participants as incompetent fools could trivialize the horror these people represent. Collectively the "cast" was responsible for the deaths of millions of people which is never a laughing matter.

I've waited for this to come on some streaming service.
It showed up on Netflix, and I've seen it twice in a week.
A little slow start, but once it gets going it's fantastic.
