… Affleck/Damon-Produced Showtime Drama.

"Showtime has released a new trailer and the official poster for the upcoming drama series City on a Hill. Created and executive produced by Chuck MacLean (Boston Strangler) with Tom Fantana (Homicide: Life on the Streets) serving as showrunner, the series takes place in early 1990s Boston and revolves around the relationship between an assistant district attorney driving change (Aldis Hodge) and a corrupt, veteran FBI agent (Kevin Bacon). In order ot make any kind of progress, the two must work together and navigate the murky, violent waters of the Boston criminal underworld.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon serve as executive producers on the series, and indeed it looks like something of a throwback to Homicide: Life on the Streets or The Wire, rather than some flashy prestige drama series. And I like that. Too often we're inundated with shows that are under some pretense of being a 10-hour movie, but it very much feels like City on a Hill is being crafted as a bona fide, ensemble-driven TV series…."
