or who Adolf Hitler was.

Which man?

Why, the man in the photograph making a nazi salute whilst using his other hand to make like he has a Hitler moustache

Really, a 32 year old man in the UK who has never heard of Hitler?

Does he not own a TV? Did he never go to school? It's on the curriculum.

Also, he's Welsh – and literally the most famous thing in Wales is the Swansea house that looks like Hitler.

And there's another weird thing – that is image 4 of an article entitled "Everyday objects that look like celebrities or religious figures" . So, is Hitler a celebrity or a religious figure ?

The house thing is a stretch, but then every car has a face, doesn't it.

I've seen old films and comedy shows where a comb is used to imitate [and make fun of] hitler. Maybe all his knowledge is from shows like that?

Sounds unlikely, I agree.

He is, however, a professional footballer…

Agreed – but it was a huge story a couple of years ago, all over the tabloids and even into what is meant to be the serious press.

Not unbelievable. I was just talking to a high school kid who, when I said something about WWII, asked "That was the one with Hitler in it, right?"

Most people (in general, not necessarily any specific sub-group) barely have a cartoon understanding of WWII, Nazism, Fascism, and Communism. Basically, anyone who says anything the possibly, slightly inconveniences them in the pursuit of something they consider to be an inalienable right and foundational to liberty is automatically upgraded to Hitler status. Occasionally Fascist status (because people can't actually name a Fascist). Not Commie status so much any more since "Communism was a great idea in principle, it was just poorly executed".

I occasionally get "people" who make parallels between my (and others') work and Nazi Germany. When "people" do this in person (protests, etc.), I point out that I disagree with their analogy, but if they really want to make the case I can call in a dozen or so of my relatives who actually lived through Nazi occupation of their homeland as a reference. Since I work in Washington DC, I have also given them directions to the Holocaust Museum and suggest they stand there and shout how "X government policy is the same as Nazism." I have yet (after decades) to have someone take me up on these offers.

It still surprises me to this day that they pretty much shut up and walk away.

Shut up and walk away ? Well, since silence should be
the last refuge of the ignorant, THEY SHOULD !
