Scott Walker has died aged 76.

Made his name in the Sixties as part of The Walker Brothers along with his actual brother's John & Gary with hits like The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore, Make It Easy On Yourself and No Regrets.

The brothers from California were essentially "discovered" in Britain and imported back to the US.

Possessing one of the great voices of the era he eventually embarked on a solo career as part of an attempt to cope with stardom on his own terms, moving away from mainstream Pop Music and eventually abandoning the whole thing in favour of avant garde and experimental music.

Cited as an influential force on many later artists such as David Bowie he may have wasted his gifts in some ways but the voice will always be remembered.
