this star studded biopic of Shakespeare's later life has been getting rave reviews.

They must have seen a different film to me.

Dull, dull dreary and dull – if they'd given the script the attention that the sets & costumes got it might have been better. it was like someone turned the biography section from their exam notes booklet into a film.

Ian Mckellen is quite good but all the cameos are really there just to say "Shakespeare – you're brilliant, love your work, love it love it love it! Write us another. Go on".

Tedious – and yet, getting great reviews. So maybe I'm wrong. evil grin

But them I hadn't realised that Ben Elton had written the script – that would have rung an alarm bell.

I think this is the best biopic of William Shakespeares life.

That does look a lot more fun, and probably has as much history in it.

All Is True is just so worthy of intent, and so much like one's English teacher setting an essay title "Shakespeare's writing encompassed the world but his private life was quite small and obscure – discuss".

Just cannot get through the trailer and they expect me to sit through nearly 2 hours.

Not going to happen.

Wise move.

The trailer is, pretty much, all the "good" bits.

Sorry to be contrary but the trailer looks pretty good. But I don't need to see it in the theater…….I can wait for TV.

Doesn't seem contrary to me – I thought the trailer looked good too…hence why I went to see it! And if the film had been like the trailer….I'd have probably enjoyed it a lot more. grin

I was responding to Mithmee's painful experience of just sitting through the trailer.
