Indeed! I enjoyed the NCIS episode in which two thieves stole a package from the porch of a SEAL that was a bomb that detonated. Kara can be tough! |

I applaud, but then I have to ask: How soon before someone uses this idea and makes a more harmful device….. |

Given the obvious expense in making this device, I doubt anyone with nefarious objectives would wind up recreating it. (4 phones, custom GPS tracking sensor, 3D printed casing and movable parts, etc…) You could fill the spin tray with unsavory light-weight items, but they'd have to be very light (like glitter) to get the wide pattern of distribution the spin tray produces. There's just not enough force involved to inflict harm. (This engineer is good at this!) The most you could do is fill it with a noxious substance (poo). Hazardous liquids, maybe, but a liquid would drain out when the package was tilted, which would be immediately noticeable, and would probably happen the moment the package was taken. So as a harmful device goes, this design is really a non-starter. But as an embarassing statement to the crook of just how STUPID they actually are, it's a dream come true! |

How soon before someone uses this idea and makes a more harmful device….. Well if only thieves get on the business end of it would it matter? |
