Have you noticed a distinct lack of blue whales crawling on land?
While my theory explains it.
As we all know blubber is a superb insulator. Stopped whales and pinnipeds from freezing in the artic and Antarctic. And the blue whale has a lot of blubber. the

So my theory is they'll overheat if they go out of the water.

That's frighteningly logical…

Air temp can get a lot colder than water, so maybe that blubber is only just efficient for temps down to the 20's. So in certain conditions they might freeze if to cold as well as get to hot.

Water is a far better heat transferer than air.

The ridiculous notion that blubber insulates is just a myth created by Big Blubber to sell us their evil toxins. The whale-heat problem must rely on a still undiscovered internal heating system, probably some kind of crystal-induced singularity focused through the whale's own essential oils.

Did my research, toxin is corecctly speled !!!

I never noted the absence of blue whales crawling on land, but there's a lot going on, maybe I just didn't notice them. Then you come along and say that's because there aren't any, without offering any proof of that assertion. Now Confirmation Bias is going to kick in, and every time I don't see a blue whale I'll think "hey, that dude was right". Pretty soon I'll consider your assertions reliable, and assume you're right that cetaceans don't freeze in the arctic, when for all I know that happens all the time. Then as climate change heats things up and I worry about overheating I'll take a lesson from the BWs and run down and jump in the creek. Then you'll steal my dice.

But it won't work, I'm on to you. I'm taking my dice with me when I jump in the creek for heat transfer.

Seems to be loads of whales coming up the Thames and getting stuck. Happens all the time! Apparently they are drawn by musical theatre and selfies with Guardsmen…
