RIP Captain. A Korean Vet & actor that brought smiles to many faces. I still enjoy catching re-runs of the show.

One of the more wholesome, family-oriented entertainers from back in the day.

Not only did he star in 'F Troop', but also in the successor to 'The Andy Griffith Show', 'Mayberry R.F.D.', and lastly, 'Mama's Family'. He was a frequent guest on 'The Carol Burnett Show', appeared in two Disney movies, 1974's 'Herbie Rides Again' and 1978's 'The Cat from Outer Space', and was also the on-camera spokesman for Kinney Shoes from the mid-'70s to around the early-'80s.

Speaking of Korea, according to Wikipedia, Mr. Berry volunteered for the U.S. Army after graduating from high school and served two years. He was initially assigned to the artillery but was later transferred to Special Services. And his immediate commanding officer in that particular branch? None other than Sergeant Leonard Nimoy. VERY cool!

Godspeed, Mr. Berry, and thank you VERY much for your many years of sharing your talent with us and for your service to our country. I salute you, sir.
