Then do yourself a favour and don't go and see The Eyes of Orson Welles.

Dreadful.

I did like him sometimes, specially when the character called for someone odd or extreme.

Let's just say that much worse actors get far too much recognition even today. Probably more so today, when people judge actors by everything they buy, say and get involved with off camera and then the isolated public opinion – right or wrong- will go viral (and extremely entrenched) all around the world in a matter of seconds.

Way back when, all I knew about actors was how they acted on screen. I didn't need to know anything else because, to me, that's really all they are getting paid to do. They can be catatonic mummies between movies, for all I care. But that might just be me.

I thought Citizen Kane was as boring as a movie can get.
Try telling that to a Film Studies ….. nut.

LOL. The two times I tried to watch Citizen Kane I fell asleep. I'm not going to try a third.

You should – it's a great film.

In my opinion.

I liked him, even in, for me the boring "Citizen Kane." One of my favorite performances is as Cesare Borgia in "Prince of Foxes" with Tyrone Power.

It may be a "great film" but it's a boring movie.

I liked Citizen Kane.

Touch of Evil was interesting, he created an interesting character then overacted.

Apparently, he has a 'new' movie coming out… imdb.com/title/tt0069049

I liked Citizen Kane as well, but my favorite is probably The Third Man. Now, there's a truly great film.

"The Third Man" and "Touch of Evil", plus through in his intros to "The Silent Years", are very enjoyable. Now I've got the Harry Lime cucu clock speech stuck in my head ….

Sagnasty

Cesare Borgia for sure. His delivery of lines was superb for that character! :)

How about his take on Shakespeare's Thane of Scotland ?

I liked the Dick Cavett interviews with him.

Winston Smith07 Oct 2018 8:44 p.m. PST

If you're talking about his acting, I've always found him to be the type that grabs you by the lapel and shouts "Pay attention! I'm acting!"
He's a ham.

Yes

And his narration works also, like in Mel Brooks'"History Of the World,Part I",or that documentary on Nostradamus.

And with Halloween coming up,will likely be listening his version of "The War Of the Worlds" online.

Ugh, someone will fix this for me, PLEASE, but I felt that Citizen Kane fixated too much on the 2nd Wife/GF, as opposed to the first…who was a much more interesting character.

Also this coming October 30th,is the 80th anniversary of Welles' WOTW radio broadcast.
