Norwegian counties hire Sherpas to put down steps on popular mountain hiking places. Only the Sherpas can do this. Moving these big heavy stones (weighing about as much as they do) by pure muscle power up hundred of meters.
But these stones have the added bonus of having wave imprints on them. They are precambrian means atleast 570 million years old. But might be over a billion. So atleast 570 million years ago some waves affected the sand, millions or possibly billions of years later they are found more than a 1000 meters above sea level and used as steps for tourists.

Very cool, both Sherpas and choice of stones.
