You know the updates you don't like to do because it's all a huge inconvenient hassle ?

The automatic update never works and you have to install it all manually, which monopolizes every resource so you can't use the computer for several hours and then and it resets all your settings for no reason other than that it procures the programmer some measure of schadenfreude.

You finally do gather your courage and go through all the hoops because even your virus software is complaining and barely 24 hours after the update there is another one knocking on the door …

Wash, rinse, repeat !

I had an iPhone 5S. I kept getting emails to update to the latest iOS. I kept putting it off, until I finally let it happen. My battery life immediately plummeted so badly I had to get a new phone.

I tried to do a Windows update once. My computer locked up for over 24 hours. Gave it to my IT guy at work who told me basically I had to wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows. Fortuitously I have all our data backed up, but wow what a hassle. Happened over a month ago and I'm still trying to get things put back the way there were…..

At work we have an Xbox One for our teen patrons. We have four games, all of which work perfectly…until Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, decide the system needs an update, at which point NONE of the games will work until the update is done. And, as the room WiFi router has degraded and now died, the teens can't play the games until the router is replaced and the update is done (because for some stupid reason I can't fathom, the system has to be online to play Rock Band, etc., even though we have the games ON FRICKIN' CDS!!!).
Which means they play the Wii U, for which we buy more games as a result.
@#$&$&* Microsoft.

I just got a phone call around 7:00 AM EDT today ,claiming there was something wrong with my Microsoft, and to press 1 to talk with a techie. I hung up,recognizing the scam.

And they had another go on Monday. Same result.
