…Behaves in Gravity. "Antimatter continues to behave just like regular matter, no matter what tests scientists throw at it. And in the face of yet another new challenge, antimatter has again refused to crack. In a new study, physicists attempted to find differences between matter and antimatter—confusingly, also a kind of matter, but with the opposite charge and other differences. It's like an evil twin. Confusingly, the universe has way more matter than antimatter, for no clear reason. Physicists haven't found the specific differences they were looking for when studying the antimatter version of hydrogen, called antihydrogen, but they have demonstrated a way to study antimatter better than ever before…." So bananas are good sources of potassium. The most common type of potassium is K39 (19 protons and 20 neutrons) . The most common isotope is K40 (19 protons and 21 neutrons). K40 has a half life of well over a billion years and is used for long term age calculations, like the age of the Earth. Now as K40 decays to K39, about 1 in 100,000 times an anti-electron or (positron) is emitted. This collides with an electron and they are mutually annihilated. That means your typical banana releases an anti electron roughly every 75 minutes. Maybe we should hide the bananas, Dan. Our own bodies generate about 4000 positrons per day. link The calculations of the banana generating antimatter was made by a Grade 11 student on Quora. I'll leave others to check the math. |

Mankind has been playing that game from time immemorial. :) That's true! I guess we wouldn't be here if we didn't. |
