Having been a happy owner of Gloomhaven for about 3 weeks and having played at least 30+ hours with the wife I put together a big post on my blog featuring a combined review of the game, pictures of painted miniatures, talk about valuable player aids and a few other things of interest! I am actually blown away about how good the game was despite my initial worries of hype, repetitive gameplay and the idea of having to retire characters during the long campaign. This may be one of the best board games in my collection and it is a very good dungeon crawler. I painted up a set of core characters for a friend at work since he also has the game, and I painted up a bunch of characters for my own set which are featured in my blog post. link

When you finish a battle do you pick up discarded cards and shuffle it or do you have to rest? We played our first game useing the random dungeon cards to get a feel for the rules and this issue came up we found no ruling on this. In the game we did the initiative step even though their was no combat which ment getting to the door was making us weaker finally we got to the and needed a rest seemed a bit daft. |
