"Hammerhead flatworms of the genera Bipalium and Diversibipalium (bipaliines) are giants among land flatworms, reaching length of 3.3 feet (1 m).

These worms are easily distinguished from other land flatworms by the characteristic hammer shape of their head.

Bipaliines have their origin in warm parts of Asia and are invasive species, now widespread worldwide.

They are predators of soil animals, including earthworms, and are a possible threat to the biodiversity of native animals and to soil ecology…."

No worm is illegal! Or an alien! They don't need no stinkin' permission to move wherever they feel like. Everyone else just needs to adapt.

This really reminds me of a Futurama episode of when Fry ate a gas station sandwich and contracted these super parasitic worms that made him stronger, faster and smarter. He doesn't even need to exercise, because the worms do it for him.

But then, when he told them he wanted his body back, they replied they had a right to go wherever they pleased.

There are so many layers of funny in that episode alone.

Dan

EDIT – The episode is called Parasites Lost. :)

The episode is like a crazy blend of Fantastic Voyage with some tale of Christopher Columbus and the loss of the New World to Europeans and others.
